Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis announced on Thursday that he is sending members of the Florida National Guard (FLNG) and Florida State Guard (FSG) to Texas to help Governor Greg Abbott (R) stop the “invasion” of illegal aliens flooding into his state that has unfolded during the Biden administration.

Yes, NOW
is the time for all good people to come to the aid of their country!
Yeah it’s
huge.
Biden has lost operational control of the situation, at least in a practical sense.
The Biden administration had initially warned Texas that it had until mid-day Friday to relinquish control of Shelby Park, the nearby boat dock, and the International Bridge. That deadline has now come and gone, and instead of there being a major clash between the Border Patrol and the state-controlled soldiers on site, it appears those on the ground have already de-escalated the situation.
… The Border Patrol Union ends by slamming Biden for creating the current “catastrophe” and reiterating that there will be no conflict between CBP agents and state forces. The statement is a clear signal of support for the Texas National Guard, its mission, and those leading it, including Gov. Greg Abbott.
… This is an incredible turn of events. I don’t know if “mutiny” is the right word here, but clearly, Biden has no way to enforce his threats at this point. Border Patrol agents are not going to go along with it and short of using the Insurrection Act to mobilize the U.S. Army (and they likely wouldn’t act either), this represents a major roadblock to the president’s attempts to further destroy the Southern border.
I think we
need to start getting comfortable with disobedience. You know like rockers used to be before they pretty much all became smarmy suck-ups!
Oh, and those who disobeyed the “vaccine” mandate nonsense helped bring it down.
do this are just sick! Decent Democrats (and there are a few) need to stand up and publicly denounce such evil, shameful behavior!
You know, Democrats need to police their own ranks. It’s not enough for them just to impotently shrug and say that they can’t do anything about it. Morality itself demands that they take a stand. Sheesh! have a little courage!
thing Christian schools are stepping up to the plate!
“But with too many universities preaching tolerance but practicing prejudice, we feel compelled to do more,” Franciscan president Father Dave Pivonka said in a press release. “We are witnessing a very troubling spike in antisemitism and serious threats against Jewish students. We want to offer them the chance to transfer immediately to Franciscan.”
It is a good, moral move. Other Christian schools should do the same!
Would that ALL
people would show such intestinal fortitude.
X owner Elon Musk reiterated his stance on protecting free speech, vowing never to bow down to censorship, and is prepared to go to prison if necessary.
Courage is a
rare attribute, indeed. And you never know who will rise to the occasion and who will crump.
those despotic mask mandates come back like a bad case of crotch rot. Or a “B” horror movie monster.
Finally, if it comes down to it, and you’re unable to stop the mandates proactively, simply do not comply. That might require a fair amount of courage. There might be very real consequences. But the alternative is to suffer under this kind of tyranny indefinitely.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the last three years, it’s that there is no virtue in silence. We can’t just ignore these assaults on our civil liberties and expect them to go away. Speak now, or forever be muzzled.
It’s hard. I get it. And every situation is different and will require a response tailored to the demands of the situation. And don’t think that there might not be consequences. But do what you can do.
So, you were
a sheep. Yes, you were a COVID coward. OK, now go. Go, and do better!
If you were one of those people who always diligently wore an ineffective mask, got the experimental vaccine and boosters, or performatively practiced social distancing, you really owe an apology to those who stood up for civil liberties during Covid and must commit to being smarter and braver in the future.
… Covid had only the power we the people gave it. Had enough Americans refused to shutter their businesses and comply with vaccine and mask mandates, the performative fear would have ceased to control us.
… That’s where those who were sheep during Covid come in. Thousands of Americans were severely punished for bravely resisting the Covid psyop because millions more followed the edicts and perpetuated fear despite knowing better. When the next Covid comes along, those who were either gullible or cowards need to learn from their mistakes and stand up against tyranny. That’s the least they can do.
