Yeah, it’s all over. Pretty much, “civility” is for the other side, and if you don’t agree with the Left, you get the Gulag treatment. Well, that’s part and parcel of leftism. Let’s not be confused–violence is not just some strange and unfortunate by-product that Pol Pot and Stalin used, it is intrinsic to the lefty agenda. I think history is clear on that, and logic demands it.

Why is Obama’s teleprompter such an issue?

I mean, everyone uses them, right? When the press hangs on your every word…
I think it is a symptom of him having no core convictions that are in line with the American people. So he has to use a teleprompter to cover his inauthenticity. THAT is the problem. When you have solid and decent core convictions, you don’t have to “remember” what is OK to say. And it’s not like plenty of others have not made fun of Obama for using the teleprompter (though I haven’t seen this point made). The teleprompter is used in virtually every venue with this guy in an effort to avoid more “Joe the Plumber” incidents. And his inauthenticity is obvious. He is the ultimate con man, and he has to have every word scripted so as to cover his butt. His real beliefs would be totally unacceptable to all but a tiny minority of bearded Marxists.
When one has no acceptable core convictions, one has to use some sort of crutch, and that is why the teleprompter is a proxy for Obama’s core weaknesses. It’s why people are skeptical that he was born in Hawaii. We know that this guy lies, and he is just not trustworthy. And since there is no evident birth certificate, people wonder (rightly) if he’s not just lying again. “This time there really is a wolf!” As has been noted, ALL of Obama’s promises come with an expiration date. His proposed budget was deeply dishonest. He doesn’t even pretend to keep his campaign promises. He pontificated about a “fierce moral urgency” during his campaign because it benefitted him, but once elected that was SOOOO yesterday and instead of bashing Bush he adopted the Bush policies lock, stock, and barrel (don’t even get me started on the lapdog media and their complicity in this). So we need to understand the underlying issue here; the excessive use of the teleprompter is but a symptom of the broader disease.

So what category do you fit in? I personally am a sponge, and I’ve known that for a long time. I’ve long been a vocal critic of the licensing schemes of this era. The system we have is NOT based on merit, but only on credentialing. I got the credentials, so I get paid a lot more than Joe Blow, who doesn’t. I’m not saying that I have no skill–I do–but that is merely a fortuitous coincident, and it has nothing to do with economics. It’s serendipity, not something that’s a part of the system. Remember that next time you go in for surgery, and don’t think that because someone is a “nice guy” he is competent…

Look, Obama desperately wants to win the 2012 election and not be a Jimmy Carter (I only wish he were only as bad as Jimmy Carter). Therefore, he frantically tries to put on the mantle of Ronald Reagan. Yeah, it’s a con, but Obama is an inveterate con man. It’s what he knows, it’s what he does. Well, it’s true that he hated Reagan when Reagan was actually president, and his policies and beliefs are diametrically opposed to what Reagan stood for, but folks, there is an election at stake! And the ruse may just fool enough people for long enough…

personally think (well, I might), but we need to understand that there are real issues here. Those issues are not addressed by some crap-eating ad hominem attack, and they need to be cogently addressed. You might believe differently than others, but don’t disparage the beliefs of those who think differently than you do especially when there is so little actual evidence to support your position. I think the left has shown just how much respect they have for “diversity.” As I used to say when at Harvard, “diversity here is when everyone looks different but thinks exactly the same.” I guess nothing has changed in the last decade or so…

budget is a bunch of smarmy bull crap. It’s just a pile of dung, and the poor fools who voted for him are left holding the bag. They got conned but good. Obama doesn’t care–he is the ultimate Narcissist with strong Anti-social tendencies. He will stab you too in the back if he thinks he will get political mileage out of it.
Even the Washington Post (who has been a cheerleader for Obama and who endorsed him the last time he ran) noted that his budget proposal is just a gimmick. Here is another great article. It’s just irresponsible, an exercise in baby tantrum-throwing. But it means NOTHING, and this is why Obama is irrelevant. You know Obama is in trouble when he has lost the Washington Post–they love him and worship him (and it shows). No, they are not as bad as the NY Times in terms of sucking up (no one is), but they are close.
Obama is looking more and more like a one-termer. He already resembles Jimmy Carter is so many other ways… Americans should learn. I sincerely hope they have.
