and intellectually bankrupt to defend Hillary’s behaviors vis a vis her husband. And it’s been far worse since then. The truth is that feminism died when defending Bill became more important to so-called Feminists than holding to the Feminist worldview. And those who were Bill apologists showed beyond a doubt that they were more beholden to Leftist ideology than to facts. As Maureen Dowd (in the crapulent NYT) said,

…feminism died when Hillary and other top Democratic women circled the wagons around Bill and attacked his accusers…

Feminism died in 1998 when Hillary allowed henchlings and Democrats to demonize Monica (Lewinsky) as an unbalanced stalker, and when Gloria Steinem defended Mr. Clinton against Kathleen Willey and Paula Jones by saying he had merely made clumsy passes, then accepted rejection, so there was no sexual harassment involved. As to his dallying with an emotionally immature (22-year-old), Ms. Steinem noted, ‘Welcome sexual behavior is about as relevant to sexual harassment as borrowing a car is to stealing one.’

That is undoubtedly true. The best one can do is to say that defending the cad BC was better than siding with Ken Starr. Well, one does have the ability to criticize both and have a little intellectual heft. But that is NOT what the Left did. They po0ped in their own bed.

I was at Harvard when the Lewinsky affair became well-known, and I had professors try to justify their stance in supporting Bill and hammering Monica. I thought it was totally bogus and nonsensical then. It is still bogus and nonsensical. But they had absolutely no problem selling out their purported beliefs in order to buttress their undying Leftism. THAT tells you all you need to know…

Sometimes I just

marvel at the idiocy of Leftists. It is not merely that they are stupid. It’s that they are willfully stupid. They need to be educated, and they are not. Totally uneducated. They are not stupid in terms of low IQ, they are stupid in the sense of being fools.

It’a he-ere!

Gun confiscation has arrived. Of course it is in CA. And yes, it is starting small–it’s a trial balloon. It is also the thin edge of the wedge…

And of course, it will make NO difference. Real criminals will just move them elsewhere. This will only affect law-abiding people. Time for a little Irish Democracy!

I swear, the CA politicians are total morons. Unfortunately, they were elected by total morons…

It’s important

30 Dec

to realize that if you use Windoze, the gummint is getting all your data. Microsoft is a tool. I use only Apple, and I advise you to, as well , though unless you take precautions that can also easily be hacked by NSA. If Apple is smart, they a) don’t follow this stupid example and b) make it a HUGE selling point.

The iPhone seems better.

Maybe Rubio is

30 Dec

indeed the right call. There are VERY good arguments to be made for him, not the least of which is that he is currently beating Hillary. And he has generally been quite conservative.

Maybe I would vote for Hillary over Satan himself, but it would be a near-run thing. Hard to know who would be worse…

Cruz is doing a great job

playing the lapdog MSM.

Yeah, if you think you are getting the straight scoop from the MSM, you are a fool, indeed. But Cruz seems to be handling them well so far.

It is looking more and more

like Paul Ryan has really stepped in it.

It would be a huge deal if he had a real fight on his hands, even if he wins. It would be a gargantuan deal if he were to lose. He is the biggest trophy Conservatives would bag in living memory. But folks are torqued, and Paul Ryan could well be on the business end of that anger. I hope so. He richly deserves it.

And it’s not only him.

Look, it was a totally stupid

scheme from the beginning. I only hope that it dies quickly, before it causes even more damage. I know universal health care has been an opium dream of the Left for the last 90 years or so, but it is clearly time to put this lame horse to sleep.

Obama and the Lefty Democrats have really damaged us regular people. You knew this was a dog that don’t hunt when they insisted that they and their staffs be exempt from it! Yet they made US subject to it. Yeah, all animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others… It is totally lame.

But it has hurt everybody, even those it was supposed to help. Yeah, that’s Leftism for you…

Let’s look at

what Thomas Jefferson said we need:

A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned.

Not at all the Obama doctrine, eh?

Oregon is only the latest.

29 Dec

It certainly won’t be the last to struggle with pension issues.

I have to say that I am torn. On one hand it is wrong to promise things and then to welsh out. If public employees were promised something (even if it was stupid)  it seems just wrong to alter the deal. Yeah, I understand that they should pray it is not altered further…

On the other hand, these benefits are financially stupid. Those promises were always stupid. These particular people were just caught without a chair when the music stopped. But you always knew that someone would be the guy in the Ponzi scheme who didn’t get paid!  You just didn’t think it would be YOU. And if there is a real collapse there will be NO money for pensions, not just reduced money. So reducing the money now may well make good sense. Some is better than none.

So almost no matter what, regular workers are going to be the victims, eventually. There is just no way around it–it is endemic to the “blue model” Oregon has foolishly bought into.

Lesson: Don’t ever elect Democrats or otherwise profligate spenders to office. They are crappy money managers. This will not end well…
