So in 2015

12 Jan

there were 389 accidental gun deaths. And each one was a tragedy. Each one.

But keep in mind that there are over 300 million legally obtained firearms in the U.S. Is there another product as safe in the U.S.? I mean, these numbers pale in comparisons to accidental deaths from five-gallon buckets.

I think I should start a crusade against five-gallon buckets…

Let’s wise up and look at the data, folks.

What’s the death toll from five-gallon buckets?

Several years ago I checked the CDC stats and it about a hundred times more than accidental gun deaths.

I Googled it and there are no recent numbers. And I can’t find anything that would imply that there are anywhere near 389 of them.

Single digits per year seems more likely.

It’s funny, what was so easy for me to find 10 years ago is virtually impossible now. Fishy. VERY fishy…
