Don’t bet

against Trump.

New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s indictment of former President Donald Trump on trumped up charges last Thursday sent shockwaves throughout America. Already the frontrunner in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, speculation ahead of the indictment had driven Trump’s poll numbers into the stratosphere. A Fox News poll released last week showed him up 30 points over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, his nearest competitor.

I agree that a Trump/DeSantis ticket would be very hard for the loony Left to beat. Could it happen? Yes, though Trump would have to straighten up and fly right.

But I don’t know that DeSantis would even accept that position–or even if he should. There are good arguments both ways. But it’s hard to persuasively argue against that since it would set DeSantis up as the presumptive GOP nominee in 2028 (whether Trump wins or loses).
