Yeah, I think

the EV boomlet is rapidly drawing to a close.

The truth is, unless I live in southern California, the car will barely work half of the year. Then, unless I am using the car ONLY for a commuter, range is a HUGE problem. And then charging stations are both rare and often non-functional when they DO exit.

There are weight-related road damage issues. There is the FACT that even minor damage might be catastrophic–and as a result, the insurance is spendy. Plus there are real fire concerns, both for the car itself (which has been known to spontaneously combust) AND for the charger. And nausea for passengers is a real issue.

Finally, there are HUGE child slave labor issues with the batteries. Maybe you don’t care bout such things. I do.

Back in the spring, my PJ Media colleague and friend Stephen Green reminded us that “we’re still far, far away from the end of dino-burning engines — and likely to stay that way for far longer than the grifters in the EV industry and the autocrats in Washington (and several states, too) would have you believe.” Ford is proving VodkaPundit — and others of us who have said the same things — right.

In many ways EVs are a great idea, But until we have new battery technology it’s just not gonna work for most people.
