I’m pretty sure happened with Joe Biden:
He was senile, but Democrats were pretty well stuck with him. Then in Las Vegas, he had a Transient Ischemic Attack (a TIA or mini-stroke) and the directing cabal of Obama, Pelosi, and Schumer leapt into action and forced him out. They couldn’t believe their luck! Kamala Harris was onboard (if she got the nomination) and would initiate 25th Amendment proceedings if he didn’t step down.
Clearly, there’s more to this story than we’re being told. This was more than the “mild” upper respiratory symptoms reported by the White House. You don’t put an entire hospital on standby for a cold. What are they hiding and why won’t they come clean about what happened that day? [emphasis added]
Remember, before this event Biden had been absolutely adamant that he would under no circumstances leave the race. He even criticized Obama for being wrong and blamed him for Trump. But events overtook him…
So the bottom line is that Joe had no choice. He had to step away. He negotiated staying on until his term ended, but that was the most he could get. In fact, someone else (Obama?) would actually be (even more) in charge from that moment on.
Joe didn’t want to go. He had no intention whatsoever of leaving. But then there was the TIA and he faced the choice of either leaving on his own or being drummed out by his erstwhile partners in crime. He had no other decent option but to agree to unclench and drop out of the race.
