this is just the thin edge of the wedge! There are a TON of attorneys eager to milk this cash cow, and there are a lot of victims who want a little justice for their destroyed lives, for the harms they have suffered from surgeons in this latest medical fad.
But yeah, this is how it ends. Docs get sued for malpractice. It’s how the “Recovered Memory” nonsense died, too–because no one wants to be sued for a harmful practice that is scientifically indefensible.
This is only the latest collapse of a Salem-witch-trial form of practice. It will go away. Already many wise surgeons (and hospital administrators) will have nothing to do with it.
It’s not over, and there will be more kids permanently mutilated over this. But one can see the collapse coming, and it is now very risky for surgeons and hospitals…
