please, oh PUH-LEEZ!
The Democrat party is definitely teetering. Like most of you, it’s hard for me to imagine it falling. Maybe that is just lack of imagination on my part…
I mean, the fall of East Berlin was totally a surprise to most people. When big political structures fail, they usually fail suddenly and catastrophically. It is only after the fall that we look back and say, “Yep, they were very obviously unstable.”
Well, it wasn’t so obvious before it happened!
Actually, I think the Democrat party as it has been in the last 20 years or so HAS ALREADY fallen with the re-election of Trump. Don’t get me wrong–it is NOT dead, and it will probably morph into something a bit different.
And I worry that, “Out of the asp’s den comes a cockatrice.” But we will have to see. But it is now quite clear that the Democrat party itself has come to an existential crisis point.
So it is quite clear now that what they have been doing doesn’t work–that it drives people away. So a little honest introspection is in order here for Democrats!
Still, I’m not sure most Democrats have “hit rock bottom” enough to actually change. Yes, some individuals have, but not the party itself. And as I have said, it will likely take them losing one, maybe two more Presidential elections for them to be in enough pain to actually change.
In order to change, they have to take Step One and admit that they are wrong and need to change. That certainly hasn’t happened as a party, yet. There is too much narcissism on both a personal and a party level. When we see the sack-cloth and ashes, we will know that there is starting to be the possibility for real change.
Until then, it’s just the ineffectual whining of the damned. And no real change is even a possibility.
