See, PRIDE is arguably the fundamental problem Democrats have. And the very nature of that problem prevents them from seeing it–it’s the proverbial self-licking ice cream cone. It’s the fish that doesn’t know he is wet.
Most Democrats are just not psychologically equipped to face the fact that Trump has yet again been shown to be wiser and more intellectually competent than they are. They desperately cling to their “smarter than your average bear” mantra–it is bound up with their very identity!
And therefore it will be defended to the last breath. And the actual evidence only makes it worse. The more data there are that suggest they are wrong, the more desperate they become to deny the data. Thus history, logic, reason, and even persuasion skills become little more than vestigial tails for them.
So Trump is both someone who disagrees with them and an ongoing narcissistic insult. He is a threat to their very identity and ego-integrity. And THAT is why we are seeing so much psychic energy in the anti-Trump population!
