put Lefty hacks in a bind: He has quite obviously done some very good things–we all see that. Yet they strategically (and characterologically) cannot be seen as agreeing with him because they don’t dare say anything even mildly supportive lest he get even more popular, and it is also too great a threat to identity and ego-integrity for them.
They simply cannot say, “President Trump has done some good things, but I disagree with…” Because hating Trump is a HUGE part of their Lefty religion, and so they are not able to acknowledge anything that might cast shade on that religion.
And while I wouldn’t call what we see here a “meltdown,” I would agree that it pretty viciously kooky. It is a denial of facts, choosing to live in the fetid Lefty fever swamps rather than in the real world.
