Barack Obama can save them? Really? Sounds like they are frantically grasping at straws to me!
Barack Obama hosed over the Democrat party big-time when he was President. He was so narcissistic that he could not tolerate anyone being a “young prodigy” and so left the Democrat with very bare cupboards and no obvious “next person up.”
Even now that is still pretty much the case. Joe Biden was a complete cipher, and senile to boot (hence the reason he was chosen as VP in the first place). Yet he was the best they could manage, and but for the Democrats putting a very heavy thumb on the scale toward him, Bernie Sanders would’ve beaten him! Bernie freakin’ Sanders!
I mean, can you quickly think of who a “rising star” of the Democrats is right now? I sure can’t. Anyone I can think of has severe liabilities, so much so that I think they’re not even viable options. You think the farmers in Iowa are going to vote for AOC or Gavin Newsom? Puh-leez!
NYC may elect Mamdani, but nearly ALL of the rest of the country sure wouldn’t! Why on this green earth would you ever think they would?
Let’s be honest: Obama isn’t the solution. He’s the symbol of a party stuck in reverse, running on nostalgia because it has no new ideas and no compelling vision for the future. A relic of a fading era, dragged back into the spotlight by a party that has nothing left but memories and mythology.
But I think it would take some serious introspection for Democrats to make the changes that they need to in order to be viable and vibrant again. And introspection is not at all their strong suit…
