horrible, overweening whine-fest in this article. In one place I work, they use Windows computers, and every time you log in, it connects you (by force) to MSNBC stories, virtually ALL of which are some version of, “Look how awful Trump is!” It is very consistent. But also quite tiresome…
And this article shows how the ploy is often a combination of ham-fisted and subtle. It dutifully informs us that Trump employees just want to “break stuff” and they lack “extensive diplomatic experience.” It is all about “rapid dismantling” and such for them.
But it also gives some anti-Trump information as some sort of un-argued “given.” EVERY smart person believes what they say! You can almost hear them say, “Do not look at the man behind the curtain. I mean, are you smart or dumb?”
And aren’t you outraged? Well, that is the entire goal of the article! Yes, it is long and boring and hardly anyone will read the whole thing, but that is why the article uses the language it does–to gin up outrage. The article is not meant to inform, it is to cheerlead and to stir up divisions. Oh, and to beat you into submission by being long and boring.
But in case you are stupid, they lay it out in no uncertain terms early on in the article for even you idiots (that’s why they make sure to put the key points right up front):
“This wasn’t a serious review of national security needs,” Meeks said, “it was a political stunt. … The result? The most damaging brain drain in the State Department’s modern history.”
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you our mainstream media! If you think this is straight news, you are a total fool. Any bloomin’ idiot can figure out what side of the river these guys are on. They are light years away from being an objective source.
I guess I’m just tired of this drama-queen dog-and-pony show. They are not even trying to provide “straight news.” No wonder wise people don’t give a crap about what they say!
But I will say this: Destruction of THIS is what I voted for! The more they whine, the happier I am…
