people (and all thinking people) are repulsed by how far Left the Democrats have moved.
It’s no secret that the party has moved relentlessly to the left, but now the numbers expose just how far out of step their brand has drifted with the American mainstream.
Folks, this ain’t your father’s Democrat party. It is a totally different animal. And it’s about 1000 times further to the Left than what Democrats used to be. Let me give you an example:
When I was in college, there was a big race between a “Conservative” and a Democrat. I think it was for the Federal House. The Republican was a total dirtbag. The Democrat was a pretty sensible guy (who has since passed away), so I voted for the Democrat. It was the right thing to do. But these days, things are far too polarized to do that. There are no more “blue dogs,” only radicals.
In fact, a 1990s Democrat is now a Republican! The Democrats are all just crazy! MANY of the “heavy hitters” in the Republican party were once Democrats. That includes Donald Trump. Trump, Kennedy, Gabbard, etc, etc, etc…
Trump is not, and never has been particularly Conservative in terms of orthodoxy. But he is what he always has been: A 1990s Democrat. But he actually loves the country. He wants what is best for the country. That is simply not the case with most of the Democrats we have today.
In the past, both parties had the same goal, though the means may have been a bit different. But today, the goals themselves are quite different. And that means that everyone has to choose the direction that we will go. Things have radically changed over the past 30 years or so, when we all agreed about the destination but perhaps had some differences in terms of talking about how we get there!
