Democrats have is NOT one of personality. Yes, Kamala Harris was the worst candidate in over a century, and Democrats may well be seduced into thinking SHE was the problem.
NEWSFLASH: She was not the fundamental problem. Oh, she was indeed a horrible candidate, that’s true enough, but the problem goes far deeper than merely that. The real problem is that the underlying political philosophy is so illogical and distasteful to most people that of course she lost! And Democrats may well keep losing until they figure out that the issue is not the candidate, it is the basic philosophy of Leftism itself.
So it’s kind of a red herring to blame everything on her. It’s just a dodge–a fundamentally defensive effort to avoid coming to grips with one’s own underlying ideas and assumptions. Yes, Kamala could not lift 500 pounds. But then again, almost no one can. The real question that we need to ask is why on earth she needed to lift 500 pounds in the first place.
The problem was not merely PR. No one denies that that was indeed a problem and Kamala was a crappy candidate, but the actual problem goes far deeper than that. Many on the left just want to blame Kamala for everything, so as to avoid taking a hard look at their own underlying political philosophy.
The actual problem goes to the very heart of Leftism itself. And as is becoming more and more clear every day (see: Javier Milei), Lefty political philosophy just really stinks.
THAT is where Lefties need to be focusing their efforts. They clench their eyes defensively and want to focus on the minutia of PR, and are not willing to address the fundamental philosophical weaknesses that they espouse.
