Well, Democrats

have voted to shut down the government. This is THEIR gig!

Senate Democrats have blocked a Republican bill that would have extended federal funding for seven weeks, with the final tally coming in at 55-45, short of the 60 votes needed to break the filibuster. This puts the government on a fast track toward its first shutdown in nearly seven years, all because Democrats decided now was the time to dig in their heels.

I wanted to post this

before Schumer and the Democrats shut the government down tonight. But the answer is “yes.” He has indeed lost control of the trolley. The players not longer pay one bit of attention to their coach.

Chuck Schumer has a problem, and it isn’t just President Donald Trump. The Senate Minority Leader is caught in a political vise of his own making, squeezed between a White House demanding clean funding legislation and his own party threatening to hold the government hostage over free healthcare for illegal immigrants and gender transition procedures for minors.

… What Schumer faces is a classic lose-lose scenario. He can cave to the radical left-wing base and risk a shutdown that could hurt vulnerable Americans and hand Trump a political weapon, or he can work with Republicans to keep the government open and face another round of progressive fury that could end his political career in a 2028 primary.

It IS rebellion!

Change

Of course, that’s

pretty much true.

Today, the Donkey party is the party of the aggrieved, the resentful, the angry, the neurotic, the desperate, the illogical, the delusional, the irrational, the unchurched, the metaphysically uncentered, the unattached and childless, the anti-social, the resentful, the failures and the congenitally rebellious – all those not nailed down or secured to anything, beginning with themselves. They are the product, or rather the detritus, of an anti-traditional, aggressively secular, excessively technological, overly connected, trivialized and wholly commercialized and urbanized society divorced from nature and the direct experience of it that had been basic to human existence until a couple of hundred years ago.

This ain’t your father’s Democrat party! And maybe, just maybe, it’s time for YOU to change…

Look Emma Watson

is a spoiled idiot. Here is JK Rowling:

“I wasn’t a multimillionaire at fourteen,” Rowling reminded Watson today. “I lived in poverty while writing the book that made Emma famous. I therefore understand from my own life experience what the trashing of women’s rights in which Emma has so enthusiastically participated means to women and girls without her privileges.”

Rowling remembers 2020 as a time “when the death, rape and torture threats against me were at their peak.” She continued, “Emma had just publicly poured more petrol on the flames, yet thought a one line expression of concern from her would reassure me of her fundamental sympathy and kindness.”

Racism

Yeah, there’s

real problem, here. And the Black community needs to stand up and face their role in things. At some point, you have to stop blaming others and take a hard look at yourself if you are going to change.

And this has absolutely nothing to do with color. No, it is all about culture. A rigid focus on racism is too often just an avoidance of personal change. NO ONE is saying that racism is OK or not harmful. But let’s focus on the entire picture.

I mean, even when I lived in the south, openly racist stuff was not socially tolerated. I suspect there was some “underground” racism, but it was never, in my experience, on full and open display.

I mean, why was there a HUGE move by black people into the middle and professional classes before LBJ? SPOILER: He openly said he was sabotaging black people! And he did…

HAMAS is offered

a way out, but will it take it? Honestly, I’m pretty doubtful that they will. Going back to Arafat, these folks have never bargained in good faith. Never.

And NAZI. Wow, that is embarrassingly stupid.

President Trump continues to be the worst Nazi in the history of all things Nazi by working hard to bring a lasting peace to Jews in the Middle East. Okay, he’s trying to bring peace to everyone in the Middle East, but you get my drift.

… His detractors can lie about him all they want, but Trump is the only 21st-century American president who has a track record of thoughtful and successful diplomacy. George W. Bush was, put mildly, a bit heavy-handed when dealing with international conflicts. His High Holiness the Lightbringer Barack Obama was a buffoon who left American foreign policy in shambles after he gave Iran a tidy sum of money on his way out the door. And Joe Biden was, well, staring at clouds and wondering where his baggie of Cheerios was when he was with other world leaders.

Lefty stupidity

I’m not at all sure that

Democrats can come to a budget agreement and avoid shutting down the government. And they will utterly own the shutdown.

But the other great thing that will happen if there is a shutdown is it there will be a whole lot of Washington “ticks” who will be cut permanently and thus be out looking for a job and kicking road apples. That would be a great thing!

So when Democrats threaten to shut down the government, I think *”Please don’t throw me into that briar patch!”

  • Brer Rabbit and the Briar Patch by Uncle Remus
“For a mighty long time” Brer Fox had tried to catch Brer Rabbit and Brer Rabbit had outwitted him. The closest Brer Fox ever came was this:
He built a contraption of molasses and tar that he called a “Tar Baby” and put it where Brer Rabbit was sure to find it. When Brer Rabbit came across the Tar Baby he tried, fruitlessly, to converse with it. In anger, Brer Rabbit punched at the Tar Baby until he became completely stuck.
Brer Fox, overjoyed at finally capturing his nemesis, mused aloud over what to do with him. With every idea (barbecuing, hanging, etc.) Brer Rabbit pleaded, “Do what you want but please don’t throw me into the Briar Patch!” Brer Fox, wanting to hurt the rabbit as badly as possible, flung him into the briar patch. Brer Fox realized his mistake when, instead of crying in agony, Brer Rabbit smiled smugly at the fox and sang that he was “Born and bred in the briar patch!” and Brer Fox knew that Brer Rabbit had once again outwitted him.

I unfortunately don’t think that Democrats are dumb enough to actually shut down the government. They almost for sure will pull back from the brink at the last second. I hope they won’t, but I’m pretty certain they will. Even if they do pullback, there is nothing good down that road for them. It is the classic “damned if you do and damned if you don’t” scenario.

If they crump and fund the government, they will face the wrath of their fringe. And they can’t electorally win without that fringe. But if they don’t, everyone else will rightly hate them and blame them for the government shut down. And they certainly can’t win without the support of normal people.

I’m just not sure what possible option there is that won’t blow up in their faces. They are in a tight spot!

Pass the popcorn, please…

And you know, Tom

Cotton is almost for sure right, here. Chuck Schumer has to go down a really bad path here, in an effort to mollify his constituents and head off an electoral challenge. And that may be the reason Democrats (under his direction) do not take the clearly correct path in keeping the government running.

It won’t work, you know. Groveling and weakness and obvious stupidity is not the way to win friends. You just discourage normals from voting and electrify and galvanize the kooky Left. But then again, what other choice does Chuck have? He is in a tight spot, here.

24.5 million:

That’s a lot of dollars! THAT is gonna leave a mark…

President Donald Trump has signed settlement papers that will require YouTube to pay $24.5 million to resolve a lawsuit after the company suspended the president’s account in January 2021 following the riot outside of the U.S. Capitol building.

The Washington Post reported that the Google-owned website was directed to put $22 million out of the settlement money towards helping to “construct the new White House ballroom,” while the remaining amount “will go to a handful of other plaintiffs who accused YouTube of censoring them.”

Google just can’t be happy about this turn of events. But it’s just the latest miscreant that is now forced to pay up.

Breitbart News reported in January that Trump had reached a settlement agreement with Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta, under which Meta paid roughly $25 million. Out of the $25 million, $22 million was “earmarked for Trump’s presidential library fund,” while the remaining money went towards “covering legal fees and other costs” relating to the case.

Boy, a quarter billion here and a quarter billion there and it really starts to add up!

Fighting Back

Yeah, I am

just fine with that. Let’s raise the cost of doing this deadly business!

The U.S. military is reportedly preparing plans to strike drug traffickers within Venezuela, with operations potentially beginning in a few weeks. This development comes as part of the Trump administration’s intensified focus on combating drug trafficking and addressing its concerns with the Venezuelan government under dictator Nicolás Maduro.

And if Maduro doesn’t like it, he can militarily resist. If he can. Make my day, Maduro…
