here’s the thing: I think the Lefty extremism is so all-powerful that they can’t change. There are some good things for them to learn, here. But they won’t. They simply are unable to take a hard look at themselves and consider that THEY might be wrong!
It’s pretty much the Lefty disease. But it is also a HUGE impediment to progress. Because unless you can admit your errors you can never move on. It is the crux of AA Step One. “I admit…”
One lifelong alcoholic I used to golf with had run AA meetings for 20+ years. He was married to his second wife. But he was on friendly terms with the first. One day he said about his first wife, “She is a great woman. I don’t know why it took her so long to leave me–I was a drunk!”
This was a guy who took Step One seriously. No excuses, just a bald-faced description of the truth. He was able to take an unflinching look inside himself and see what the problems actually were. Many Democrats could sure learn a lot from him!
