The Los Angeles Fire Department brass was even more clueless than we thought. Bombshell texts show that L.A. firefighters were ordered to leave the scene of the still-smoldering Lachman Fire despite protests from the team left to watch it. Days later, and as feared, predicted killer winds caused that fire to flare up. 

… The conflagration that followed killed twelve people and destroyed thousands of homes and businesses in the Pacific Palisades and Malibu.

This is not mere incompetence. This is evil. Newsom is done for. How does he survive this, politically? He and several others should be in prison!

Thune blows

a gasket. His frustration and exasperation with the recalcitrant, self-serving Democrats is palpable. I don’t blame him one bit!

The normally cool-tempered Thune was visibly and audibly furious as he stared down Senate Democrats across the aisle. His voice rose as he accused them of deliberately prolonging the shutdown for political gain while pretending to care about the Americans who are now suffering the consequences.

“And we’ve tried to do that thirteen times, and you voted no thirteen times,” Thune thundered, glaring directly at the Democratic side of the chamber. [emphasis added]

Last day of

the month. I have long expected that this is the day Democrats will have crumped by now. And maybe by the time you read this they will have. Yeah, maybe…

But now I kind of doubt it. It seems like they have already passed the point of no return in some regards. But now it seems that they are rather bound to the Procrustean bed they have chosen to lie down in. They are going to MAKE it fit their agenda! You know the old saying, “In for a penny, in for a pound. Dammit!”

Well, I think that Democrats are in for a pound. And probably (hopefully) in for a pounding!

They pretty much have to give in because they simply are taking on water. NO ONE likes them! On the other hand, their wacky base will be absolutely fit to be to be tied if they capitulate, and will drop them like the proverbial hot rock. And Democrats need their votes.

In short, Democrats are caught between Scylla and Charybdis*, here.

*The phrase “between Scylla and Charybdis” denotes a predicament in which an individual or group must select between two hazardous options, each carrying significant risk, such that evading one peril invites exposure to the other.

I’m just not sure

how you could describe this except as a major butt-kicking!

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise absolutely unloaded on Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer this week, delivering a blistering takedown that left the Democratic leader politically scorched and scrambling for cover. In a fiery press conference that summed up weeks of frustration over the Schumer Shutdown, Scalise accused Democrats—accurately, I must add—of deliberately prolonging the pain for American families just to score political points against President Trump.

And it is patently obvious that it is true! Yeah, THAT’s gonna leave a mark!

“There is suffering,” Scalise acknowledged. “But they’re doing it for leverage. So you can’t have it both ways, Chuck Schumer. You can’t wake up one day and say you’re gonna try to blame it on the Republicans, and then on the next day, you’re trying to say that, ‘Gee whiz, we know. We know that we’re causing these problems.’”

Scalise expounded, “They’re admitting they’re causing suffering on people, but they’re doing it for leverage.”
