Yes, and this is indeed like the lobotomy craze and the “repressed memory” craze. We’ve seen this before, and we know how it ends. Wise practitioners will run like heck away from this.
I doubt very much that within a couple years it will still even be covered under malpractice insurance. And then it will stop. It is no longer considered the standard of care. Unfortunately, it will leave a whole lot of people forever mutilated and estranged. You thought depression was an issue for them before, but just you wait. It really is a tragedy…
