Donald Trump with delusional, nay, religious intensity. And I don’t think for a moment that this intensity will decrease one iota after Trump leaves office. Unlike Bush II, he will not kowtow to them. There will indeed be a different target, but the psychological process will be exactly the same. Because they themselves have not changed!
This did not start with Donald Trump. It started with George W. Bush. The Left called him all sorts of nasty names, and pretended that he was a chimpanzee, mocked his speech defects, and made all sorts of “clever” pejorative names of him. And that hid just how far Left he actually was!
The fact that after his presidency, Bush sought caresses from the hands that had previously beaten him is beside the point. Leftists even loved “Darth Cheney” once he was out of office and started criticizing Donald Trump! It was truly amazing.
But I think the Trump Derangement Syndrome of the Left is permanent. Maybe things will change in the next few years, but I really doubt it. Trump is NOT going to stop gigging them!
The point is, the current furies of the Left are not the product of Trump Derangement Syndrome, though he delights in aggravating it on a daily basis. It will not subside when he leaves office. The “decent Left” of the Cold War liberalism era and of Michael Walzer is dead and gone. The Left’s dysentery is here to stay.
