I’m not a bit displeased at the GOP Speaker fight. Not one bit. I know some have opined that this makes the GOP look weak or incompetent or fractured, but I heartily disagree.
Like science, good politic needs “messy.” It needs argument. It needs the marketplace of ideas. It needs input from all sides and sources. And just like science, good politics is never “settled.”
So yeah, let’s argue about who is Speaker. Let’s get concessions and agreements. THAT is the way forward, not some sheep-like blind adherence and unanimity.
If you want sheep-like, bleating adherence, be a Democrat! As for me, I’ll take the marketplace of ideas.
