Nobody has proven that point better than the Democrat Party’s own leadership. Party leaders have spent the past few months dismissing concerns about the rise of socialists inside their coalition, arguing that it is evidence the party is big enough for everybody. At the same time, plenty of the same leaders have spent those months working to sideline Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), a man who votes with his own party 95% of the time. His real offense was refusing to fall in line on Israel, Iran, the border, and socialism, the handful of issues on which the activist wing has decided disagreement is disqualifying.

… He’s also, as of yesterday, the official Republican nominee for governor of Florida — winning outright with roughly 48% of the vote in an eleven-candidate field, crushing his nearest rival, Lt. Gov. Jay Collins, by a full 23 points. And he did it with the enthusiastic, early, and very public endorsement of that supposedly most-racist-president-in-history, Donald Trump, who backed Donalds before the man had even officially entered the race.
One more detail worth sitting with, because it makes the whole “party of racists” narrative even harder to swallow: should Donalds win in November — and current polling already has him leading Democrat nominee David Jolly 45% to 38% — he’ll become Florida’s first black governor. Ever. In the state’s entire history. Delivered courtesy of the party we’re incessantly told can’t stomach the sight of him.
That narrative is laughably, ridiculously wrong. It is merely a self-serving trope for the Democrats.
What we’re watching unfold in real time is the entire GOP-racism narrative quietly collapsing, live, under its own weight. I hope to make it a somewhat less quiet demise, because that matters.
… I’d love to think a moment like this — Byron Donalds standing one election away from becoming Florida’s first black governor, backed to the hilt by the very party supposedly incapable of stomaching him — might finally put an end to the Democrats’ long-running theater over GOP racism. I really would.
But I’m too much of a realist to go hunting for that particular fantasy in my stocking this Christmas. I’m quite sure we will be revisiting this theme even in the near future. It’s all the Democrats have left.

RINOs can certainly be counted on to keep doing RINO things! Yeah, “Master of the Senate” Thune certainly is not! But then again, maybe he just has very little motivation to ensure secure elections. It would probably be bad for his career and for the career of his buddies…
If I were Tom Cotton, I would put as much distance between me and Thune as possible! I would certainly never want to be seen in a photo with him! He’s gonna get Thune all over him, and he won’t be able to wash it off!
But we haven’t heard from Tom Cotton for a long time. Maybe the Leftists got to him… And that is too bad. I had high hopes for him.

this as anything but Illinois getting what it richly deserves. It orders certain power providers to shut down by a certain date. But one company said, “OK, we’re moving to TX, but RIGHT NOW.” That leaves IL in a lurch, big time…
The move by Hull Street means Illinois won’t put the generator out of commission and save the world. The move means all Illinois accomplished was moving 900 megawatts of power out of state.
The newspaper said, “So not only will there be no reduction in overall emissions due to CEJA, the Chicago area will lose 900 megawatts of power that had been critical to meeting peak demand and helped dampen prices during those peak periods.
… The Chicago Tribune editorial bristled, “Dairyland over the next year will sell the output from those three remaining Elwood turbines into a separate power market that serves downstate Illinois but not the northern part of the state. So, at least in the short term, what’s left of Elwood Energy won’t contribute to meet demand in Chicagoland, potentially inflating prices here that will be reflected in electric bills. That’s 1,350 megawatts—poof, gone.
So what does that mean? It means that regular power users will see their rates go up significantly, of course. It’s always on the backs of the regular people that the Leftists ride…
