We often fall prey to the careful advertising hype of an ascendant China, but some of the fundamentals show real problems.
Remember, the USSR fell all at once, and I never heard a single source that predicted it. Part of that is that the information system in Communist countries is SO closed. But part of that is in the inherent instability of our world.
But the unexpected DOES happen at times. I think there is no way to know just how stable China really is.
