In short, the evidence was admittedly despoiled. But if so, it is no longer valid at all!
Special counsel Jack Smith’s team acknowledged Friday that some evidence in the prosecution of former President Donald Trump for hoarding classified documents at his Florida home may not be in the same sequence FBI agents found it when they swept into the Mar-a-Lago compound with a search warrant in August 2022.
So if the sequence is changed, what else is? And how would you know? If one fruit of the tree is poison, aren’t they all best assumed to be, as well?
If they did it in one case, is there any case where it couldn’t have happened?
Maybe that hamburger in the fridge doesn’t stink after you cut off the fuzzy blue edges, but do you think the other parts might not be good, either?
