There was no legal reason at all. The prosecution ran, and Merchan didn’t stop them. Nor did he even want to–they are on the same team, after all…
It’s a mockery of justice, and we ALL know it. You may like the outcome, but no one is confused enough to think it was a fair process.
I mean, how big of a dope do you have to be to honestly think this is a fair trial? THAT’s why I think this trial can only help Trump:
If Trump wins (unlikely) there will be a shower of guffaws unlike what we have seen in 200 years. And him winning the 2024 election is virtually for sure.
And if Trump loses, well, EVERYONE knows the judge was a total scumbag and the whole nation knows it was grossly unfair–it is a stain on the courts and on liberty itself! And it galvanizes the Trump vote and makes people all the more motivated to get him in. Americans just don’t like “unfair.”
