Now I agree, there are HUGE problems with polling. But for Democrats to totally ignore it is just whistling past the graveyard!

A day after a poll showed former President Donald Trump taking back Michigan from President Joe Biden, a new survey just out has him beating the president in Wisconsin, giving him control of all seven key swing states.
According to the X site InteractivePolls, “Trump now leads Biden across all seven swing states.” They are Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, and Pennsylvania.

A Rasmussen Reports poll released Tuesday found Trump leading Biden in a head-to-head matchup by six points, garnering 47 percentage points to Biden’s 41 percentage points. Another nine percent support “some other candidate,” and two percent are unsure.

I think that the make-up of the sample is highly questionable. Looking at the internals makes me skeptical. That said, even if you have half that margin, Biden is in a world of hurt.
The bottom line is that I’m not at all sure that the reported numbers are representative. Still, nine points is a lot. It wouldn’t surprise me if Trump were actually up by three.

this simply does not take into account widespread voter fraud on the part of Democrats. Yes, he is unpopular. Yes, he is a senile old buffoon.
But, as he said, he has the best voter fraud team in the world at his disposal!

will bottom out. And I don’t think he has, yet.
That being said, I just don’t think he can go much lower. About a third of people would vote for a rotten potato as long as there was a “D” after the name.
Which, coincidentally, actually describes Joe Biden pretty darn well! But I think about 35% is about as low as it can go without a nearly universally-accepted display of incompetence. And 38% is pretty much there. I wouldn’t expect it to go significantly lower.
But 2/3 of Independents disapprove of the job he is doing! In other words, if you consider yourself an Independent and yet still approve of the job Joe Biden is doing, odds are that you actually are not an Independent!
If Trump gets anywhere within 10 points of what is recorded here in terms of the Black vote, it is totally game over for Biden! I mean, it would be a complete rout.

out are far from definitive. But they ARE interesting. And is there a reason to think that Biden’s numbers will get better? OK, what is it? Previously Democrats relied on casting Trump as a bogeyman. But is there a reason to think that strategy will work again?
