Uhm, just why wasn’t this spy balloon shot down when it first crossed over the largely uninhabited wilds of northern Idaho? And then why shoot it down after it traversed the US and where recovery of the wreckage would be almost impossible because of deep water? Did it already send back the desired information to China and Joe was just covering the tracks? Because once it was over the Atlantic it really posed no threat to us! So why shoot it down only then?
