They are NOT going to give it back to the parents.
And trust me, there is a reason. If it furthered the Leftist cause, it would have been public on day one.
According to the Tennessee Star, attorney David Raybin argued that the Hales have the right to their daughter’s manifesto and writings. They claim that since the police took the documents from their home it is their property and they can assign them to whomever they want.
The lesson here is to NEVER completely trust “the authorities” and ALWAYS make copies of potentially important documents. Take a photo of them with your phone, for Pete’s sake!
It was originally announced in April that the documents would be released to the public by May 1. Litigation was filed and has blocked its release pending orders or directions from the court.
