It has been

obvious for some time that conservatives should just write off California. And indeed, that is probably still the case.

Probably.

This year, Republicans won majorities in 13 districts to Democrats’ 39, a vast improvement on the 46-7 Democratic margin in 2018 when, in reaction against Trump, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) won back the House majority and the speaker’s chair.

As the Haitian proverb says, “Little by little the bird makes his nest…”

People on the

whole are starting to really understand what is behind the legal charges against Trump. Many of us have long understood exactly what this is, but most people don’t eat and sleep politics, and therefore have been only vaguely aware.

But now they are really being confronted with it–and they immediately understand that this is pure lawfare. And people hate unfairness.

But there already existed a public perception of a double standard, in which Biden and Hillary Clinton were let off the hook for their mishandling of classified documents while Trump is being prosecuted.

A recent I&I-TIPPn poll found that 62% believed the Justice Department was more lenient toward Biden than Trump on classified documents, including 59% of independents. A Reuters-Ipsos poll last month found that 53% believed Biden “received special treatment because he is the U.S. president.”

So Hur said Biden was guilty, but that prosecution would be difficult:

“You did not reach an idea that he had committed no wrong; you reached a conclusion that you would not prevail at trial and therefore did not take it forward?” Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) asked Hur on Tuesday.

“Correct, congressman,” the former special counsel replied.

The general public are none too pleased about the obvious double standard! They see the deliberate blind eye given to Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden on one hand, and the Javert-like hounding of Trump on the other, and the manifest politically motivated unfairness rankles more than a bit.

Yes, there is

some hopeful news.

Remember, run through the tape, not to the tape!

You know,

it’s getting pretty pretty dang obvious! Even the CNN shills are admitting it.

Responding to the news, CNN’s senior legal analyst Elie Honig said CNN’s Newsroom that the dropping of said charges was “embarrassing” for Willis and her team.

Look, lived in

Haiti. I speak fluent Haitian creole. I love Haiti. Every New Year’s day I get a hankering for soup joumo. (ASIDE: I sure wish I could get that somehow!) But the truth is that Ron DeSantis is totally right to protect his state.

Believe me, I am very sorry that Haiti’s leaders have sucked so badly for 100 years. But they have. There is a strong cultural thread among almost all Haitians that once you direct things, you get to dip your hand in the piggy bank, Repeatedly.

Yes, there are Haitians who have rejected that cultural norm, but they are rare. And THAT is very unfortunate.

So England is

backing off giving puberty blockers to children. Good. REALLY good!

“Puberty suppressing hormones (PSH) are not available as a routine commissioning treatment option for treatment of children and young people who have gender incongruence / gender dysphoria,” NHS England published on its website.

No SOTU bump

at all for Biden. Please, keep on talking, Joe!

Democrats were counting on Joe Biden’s State of the Union address to give him a bump in the polls. Americans on both sides of the aisle have been expressing concerns over Joe Biden’s advanced age and cognitive decline. The devastating Hur report, which found that Joe Biden willfully retained, mishandled, and disclosed classified information but he is essentially too senile to stand trial, did him no favors either.

… So, it’s quite clear that a lot was riding on the State of the Union address, and Democrats ought to be panicking because new polling since the speech shows no bump at all.

… Biden’s “fiery” performance (which is widely believed to have been due to medication) didn’t change voters’ attitudes about his fitness for office, either. Fewer than 30% of respondents said that Biden was fit for a second term — essentially unchanged from their previous poll. Over 50% of participants also described the president as “mostly passive” in his role, down slightly from 54% in the prior survey.

Oh, it’s a

problem, all right!

On Tuesday, the White House went into full gaslighting mode with some bizarre claims about inflation.

“Inflation is down two-thirds, and we have the lowest annual core inflation since May 2021,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed during the White House press briefing. “Prices fell over the last year for gas milk, eggs, chicken, appliances, and also used cars. Wages are rising faster than prices over the last year since the pandemic, and forecasts broadly expect progress on inflation to continue over the rest of the year.”

Well, that’s news to pretty much everyone outside of the White House.

Uhm, do I look stupid? No really, do I look stupid?

Yeah, Hur

beats Schiff like a rented mule.

The Democrats wanted Hur to be a good little DOJ soldier and declare Biden innocent of any wrongdoing in his handling of classified documents. They really needed that after all of their grandstanding about Trump and his document situation. His conclusion that Biden is too much of a doddering, demented train wreck to be held accountable for his actions really threw a wrench into the Democratic narrative machinery.
