hearings were a fiasco. Almost no one cared, few watched, and the hearings were manifestly just a stupid ploy for Democrats to make hay bashing Conservatives. They were a… well, I can’t say on a family blog, but the term that comes to mind is the ones Marines always used to describe a complete fiasco.
