Change Civil Rights Culture

I’m telling you,

the sand is shifting. And NOT just on this particular issue.

One in five US households bought a gun from March 2020 to March 2022, according to NORC at the University of Chicago, a nonpartisan research institution. One in 20 Americans purchased a gun for the first time during that period.

The Northeastern and Harvard study found that nearly 3% of US adults, or 7.5 million people, bought guns for the first time from January 2019 to April 2021. About half of the new gun owners were female, 20% were Black, and 20% were Hispanic.

“The face of gun ownership is changing somewhat and the people who are becoming new gun owners today are less likely to be male and more likely to be non-White, more likely to be somewhat younger than existing and long-standing gun owners,” Miller said.

Lefties are freaking out about this. But as Glenn Reynolds said:

But remember, ultimately the police aren’t there to protect the public from criminals. They’re there to protect criminals from the rough justice meted out by a public that takes matters into its own hands for lack of a better alternative.

And indeed, I think that what we (ideally) have now is a much better approach–equal justice under the law and Civil Rights and fair trials and all that. The Left is really stupid to act in ways that weaken those cultural norms!

Because vigilante justice is a HUGE part of our underlying culture, and is always just below the surface. And when people start believing that there is no “official” justice…

Hillary being an obvious criminal and getting away scot-free (without even so much as a trial) has been a HUGE blow to Civil Rights and the Rule of Law!

And we are now seeing people of all races and of both genders acting accordingly. It’s not at all a surprise.

THIS is how you get vigilanteism.
