See, that is

pretty much true. They got nothing beyond a temporary lifting of the debt ceiling. Democrats got worked, plain and simple. And now Democrats need to deliver the votes.

But what if they can’t?

Well, first of all, for Democrats NOT to support Biden on this would be to completely throw him under the bus. It would be virtually conceding the 2024 general election. It would be the ultimate vote of no-confidence. From his own party, no less. I doubt that he could survive electorally.

Second, Democrats would be rightly blamed for shutting down the government. And Republicans would hammer the ever-living crap out of them for it. They would for sure lose the the Senate, and very likely lose the Presidency, as well.

McCarthy has played his cards very well, indeed.

lot of Lefty hand-wringing and teeth-gnashing about Biden getting his lunch money stolen, sportin’ a chocolate swirly, and wearing a big, stupid grin after the debt ceiling negotiations with Kevin McCarthy.

No wonder Joe’s posse didn’t want Joe to negotiate! It sure didn’t take long for him to crump!

NOW, even if Joe suddenly grows a spine, Republicans will say, “It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we point out that Joe Biden didn’t keep his word and is shutting down the government–hurting YOU! WE Republicans didn’t want this, and, in fact, negotiated and even passed legislation that would have prevented it! But while Joe Biden promised us all that he would not shut the government down, he has. <sigh> I guess we all know better than to vote Democrat, now…”

And McCarthy certainly doesn’t need to publicly gloat. Others will do that for him!

Biden is getting pummeled in the polls. And sure, there will be A TON of Democrat voter fraud (again) come 2024. But I’m not sure that is enough to save them…

The polling data shows Biden is in political turmoil as he begins to make the case to voters about why he should win reelection amid his family’s business scandals, banking failures, skyrocketing violence, the deadly Afghan withdrawal, and with an economy ridden with systemic inflation.
