I’ve said this many times before, and it is still true. Lack of enforcement and partial application of justice based on “nobility” leads inexorably to Vigilanteism.
And Vigilanteism is much more prone to mistakes. Far better to have civil rights and an effective, fair, and impartial police and justice system. Because when you don’t have that, you get vigilanteism.
Hunter and Hillary skating damages everything! Not because the system is not robust enough to absorb an accidental injustice here and there, but because these cases assault the very foundation of justice itself!

what the 2nd amendment is all about. Leftists have gone FAR astray thinking it is about guns. But it isn’t. Lefties tend to live in a fantasy world where the prosperity and ease that is all we know are the norms of humanity and will always be our lot in life.
Well, that is NOT the case. So understand that the 2nd amendment is about the ability to resist a despotic government. Just like the Minute-Men were called upon to defend their country and freedom and the pursuit of happiness, so WE, the modern regular citizens, need to be ready at a moment’s notice to do the same thing.
Look, a standing army is necessary to the survival of this country. An army prevents others from coming in and taking control. So we truly need that defense.
Unfortunately, a despot would, if he can (and very often does), turn that standing army against its own citizens. You know, just like Britain did to us!
THEREFORE, because a standing army is necessary to keep the country from being conquered, THE PEOPLE must balance that out (the founders were big on checks and balances) and have the “unalienable” right to keep and bear arms–that right “shall not be infringed. The people must be able to defend themselves against a tyrannical government–just like what happened in the Revolutionary war!
SO, the FIRST amendment was set to ensure free speech and such. But the SECOND was to makes sure that the people could defend themselves against a despotic leader. At a moment’s notice.

If you had any doubts whatsoever about a judge’s order to have the government stop talking to social media platforms, this story should answer the last of your questions. (The Justice Department is fighting the order.) It’s now being reported that the FBI has, over the past year, been working with the SBU – the Ukrainian Security Service, similar to America’s FBI – to shut down the spread of supposed “Russian disinformation.” The method of choice is, as you would guess, to shut down the social media accounts of people or groups critical of the Ukrainian government or the war in Ukraine. And they’ve shut down quite a few of them, including those of American journalists reporting on events in the region.
… The real irony here is that the FBI was so uncritical in its evaluation of the information coming from the SBU that it was simply passing along the lists of accounts to be suspended to Facebook, YouTube, and other platforms. Most of the time the accounts were censored without question.
… No matter which side the users came down it, the end result was the same. It was censorship by the government, plain and simple.
I agree. No matter where your political loyalties lie, we can agree that we should preserve civil rights, right?

Basically, Hunter is unjustly allowed to skate because he is “nobility.” And the Whit House is frantic to cover up Hunter bringing cocaine into the White House because that would likely invalidate his sweetheart plea deal.
Just understand, YOU would not get such kid glove treatment if you did these things! But Hunter is held to a different standard of justice than you would be. We saw the same thing with Hillary Clinton.
There IS no equal justice under the law for the rabid Left! In general, the Left is not a fan of the rule of law.
